IMPOSITION, XP, AND MORE

HUGE UPDATE

What we're calling play test version 3.5 is is a doozy. First, we've updated the resolution mechanics to match with how we've been play testing it recently. In short, instead of worrying about the final value on the die and trying to get a 4-6 for a success, you're only trying to make sure your Spell and Path die are greater than the Imposition die for a full success or at least one is greater for a partial. It's made rolling much faster and everyone has picked up on it a lot quicker.

We've also added examples to all the Aspects to help players better understand the potential uses of each one. To be clear, these are not spell lists but simple prompts to help players come up with their own unique ways of casting spells.

Experience gain has undergone an overhaul. Now players get an xp tick per failure. They add this tick to the XP track. A player then has several options on how to spend this xp beyond just character growth. This can be investing into their town's growth or addding a narrative beat to the scene.

Finally, the town buildings mechanics have undergone a HUGE expansion. Now instead of just 10 question prompts, the players get to build out the stats of the town. Just like a character, your town has dice to roll against Imposition. The first is the town's Prominence Die, which handles the population size and how well known they are in a region. The second die is one of five Civic Paths: Defense, Offense, Necessities, Luxuries, Indulgences. The players can spend xp to invest into these different Civic Paths and increase their quality. We're so excited to roll out this update and see how this is all coming together. Thank you again to our play testers for providing amazing feedback.
